Frances Ann (Barham) Ozment

 Frances Ann Ozment, 87 of Marion, Illinois, peacefully transitioned into Heaven at 10:45 pm, Thursday, February 22, 2024. She was at home, exactly where she wanted to be surrounded by the people she loved the most.

Frances was born February 5, 1937, to Charles and Catherine Barham. She graduated from Marion High School in 1955, and in 1956 married Noel L. Smith of Crab Orchard, Illinois. From that union three children were born. Melanie, Mark and Mike.

She later married Donald L. Ozment of Marion, with whom she shared many happy years of marriage until his death in 2000. With that union she gained two sons, Tim and Kevin. She was blessed, in her last years of life, to find love again with Harold Violett of Marion, Illinois.

Frances was a born-again Christian who grew up in her faith at Marion Third Baptist Church. She later attended Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Frances loved to travel and was fortunate to have seen and experienced many places around the world. She loved music, especially Nat King Cole, reading, and any movie with James Garner. She most enjoyed laughing and just sharing time with family and her friends. She is retired from the Bank of Marion, Marion, Illinois, after over 40 years of dedicated service.

Frances leaves behind her children Melanie and Gerry Yearack, Mark L. and Carrie J. Smith, Michael and Angie Owens-Smith, Tim and Jennie Ozment, Kevin and Melissa Ozment; her grandchildren Todd and Tina Yearack, Lacy and David Evrard, Grant L. and Lauren Smith, Haley and Todd Kostechi, Matt and Ashley, Chris Ozment and fiancé Emily, Sarah Ozment and her friend Ethan; nine great-grandchildren; Harold Violett and her best friend Marlene Weaver, along with several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald Ozment; sister Betty Shively; special aunt Fannie Barham.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Binkley-Ross Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be held in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at a later date.
